Fellowship Programme

Policy Fellowship Programme

The SOLIDAR Foundation policy fellowship programme offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to spend 3 to 6 months in our Brussels-based Secretariat. During their time with us, they would contribute to EU policies with regard to our three main areas of work: social affairs, lifelong learning and international cooperation, and explore future academic and professional interests.

SOLIDAR offers a dynamic and international working environment and a learning experience on the development of EU policies in Brussels and their impact on the national level, as well as insight into how policy advocacy in Brussels is shaped.

Within the fellowship programme related to social affairs and lifelong learning, fellows will have an opportunity to monitor the impact of EU policies related to the European Semester within EU Member States and the Enlargement Policy’s impact in the Western Balkans. On the international pillar, the work will be focused on the European Neighbourhood Policy’s impact on the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the Eastern partnership. For more information, please see the relevant sections of our website.

During the programme, fellows will be expected to make substantive contributions to:

  • Monitoring of EU policy impact with SOLIDAR members and partners.
  • Developing policy and monitoring reports within EU Members States and neighbouring countries.
  • Organising visibility and advocacy initiatives presenting the findings of the policy monitoring process.

The fellowship programme is open to students and recent graduates (within 18 months of graduation). The SOLIDAR policy fellowship programme is only open for scholarship holders (university, EU or other grants). There is not fixed call for vacancies and we welcome spontaneous applications. The exact dates and duration of the fellowship will be worked out by the fellow and the SOLIDAR Secretariat. Please note that it is not an internship. If you are interested in participating in SOLIDAR policy fellowship programme, please send a mail to foundation(at)solidar.org
